Time-budget
Work
I started out by making four different render layers. One for each of the renders we were going to do.
A beauty layer, basically a normal render with lights and textures.
An AO layer, showing the ambient occlusion.
A Zdepth layer, giving depth perception.
And finally a Multi matte layer, enabling me to change some of the values in the render for next weeks assignment.
In the scene, I decided to render out frame 199 (I decided to choose this after batch rendering, and selecting the one I thought looked the best)
I made some slight adjustments to my proxy object, making the tablecloth fall more realistically on the hoverboard. I also changed some of the attributes in the nucleus, making it move around better.
I added three Vray-Rectangular lights.
You can see the attributes of the different lights here.
I then did a render of the different layers, and saved them out as EXR's. (I also made PNG's of these, so I could upload them on this blog)

Beauty
AO
Zdepth
Multimatte 1
Multimatte 2
The reason for these different renders, is that we will use them to change different values for the final image (probably next week). For example, with the Zdepth, I can change what is in focus, and what isn't. With the multimatte, I can change how these objects look completely.
I am happy with the result, but I am not so fond of the glowing red fluid. It was my idea to make it glowing, but I feel as if it is glowing way too much.
I am really happy with the smoke though.
