Noroff fagskole: VFX3 - Particles and Dynamics (Batch render)

This week at Noroff, I am batch rendering out my VFX2 scene

Time-budget

Work

There wasn't a lot of work this week, mostly waiting.
I had to change the size of the bounding boxes for my fluids though. I had to do that because of some weird glitchy stuff happening to the fog.

Then I simply did batch renders, since I already had all of my render layers set up. I rendered these as EXR's.

After I had all of my EXR's, I put them into Nuke, where I could change some values to make the video a bit nicer.

After that was done, I rendered it as a mov. file. I noticed that the video used around 60mb of space, which was a bit too much. So I simply opened the video in Adobe Premiere Pro, and renderet it using the excact same settings. For some reason, without losing quality, that minimized the video file to a measly 7mb, which meant I could deliver it.

Finished Product

Here you can see the difference between the original batch render, and the altered video file (with NukeX).
There isn't a lot of difference, but it does make it look a bit better.

Render settings:
Vray
Irradience map
GI: On
Subdivs: 64

There was a lot of rendering this week. As said earlied, not really a lot of work, but rather a lot of waiting. I am happy with the result.

Next week, I will start working on my portfolio assignment, which will be really interesting.
I will for example add new things to my hoverboard.
