Noroff fagskole: T4 - Texturing the Fish

This week at Noroff, I am texturing the white marlin that I sculpted and retoped last week.

Time-budget

Idea Development

This is my mood-board. The general look of the fish will be the main diffuse texture. As for creativity's sake, I chose to add some bloody scars to the right eye, and a bloody wound on the left side of the fish.

Work

I started by unwrapping the fish, then I baked a normal map from the high poly model on to the low poly model. I used tangent space for the normal map. I proceeded with exporting the fish (.obj) over to Mudbox, where I started by making a diffuse (color) map in Mudbox.

This video shows the entire process of that.

I should have recorded all of my other work, but I simply forgot.
None the less, the following pictures below are the rest of my maps for the fish.

I used less time than I originally predicted this week. I thought I would be completing the assignment on Friday (06.11.2015), but I ended up completing it on Wednesday (04.11.2015)
I think the end result looks good and I am happy with how it turned out.

I am really looking forward to next week (LR4), because then I will be lighting the model, potentially with an HDRI, which will make it look a lot better.
